It may have been a chilly and grey week but that didn’t dampen our spirits as the Activ8 team headed into half term full of energy and welcomed a great number of children to our holiday club at Worthing Rugby Club.
As with any new venture for young ones there were a few nervous faces on the first morning, but our warm and welcoming instructors made everyone feel at home quickly by introducing the group to each other and encouraging children to play together while the rest of the group arrived. Soon everyone was firm friends and and the group got stuck in with activities straight away.
Activ8 holiday clubs build on skills learnt in PE at school and seek to introduce new and exciting challenges for children. This February half term saw the youngsters get involved in sessions such as archery, lacrosse, tri golf, dodgeball and even we even tried our hands at curling in honour of the winter olympics! Of course no holiday club could be complete without our old favourite football, which everyone enjoyed playing and using up those last stores of energy before heading home.
This year we introduced the option of hot lunch for our attendees to the hoiliday club, which went down extremely will with children getting a tasty hot meal and parents safe in the reassurance their kids were getting enough fuel for the whole day! Look out for this option for future clubs.
The week couldn’t have gone much better and our team enjoyed every day as much as the last! It seems our attendees did too and we were thrilled to recieve the following feedback:
‘Very well managed club, my child enjoyed the club so much this half term and wanted to go everyday, he can’t wait to come back at Easter!’
See you all next time!
