It’s no secret that health problems such as heart disease and childhood obesity are on the rise and Activ8 are passionate about helping to change this by promoting healthy lifestyles both in and out of school. It’s often the case that some simple support and education can make a truly meaningful change and as such, we’ve launched Health for Living, a non-profit making company that delivers programmes to schools that encourage healthy eating and develop fun activities.
Happy Hearts
Health for Living has developed from the Happy Hearts programme, which has been running successfully across Adur Schools since 2012 as a partnership project between Adur District Council and the British Heart Foundation to address the inequalities in heart health. Health for Living uses Happy Hearts and other programmes to educate and support schools and families to lead healthier lifestyles. Our programmes initiate a step change to stop unhealthy habits in children, to help give them the best chance of living a healthy and long life.
5 Ways To Wellbeing
Another programme you may come across with Health for Living is 5 Ways to Well-Being. It uses the latest research to allow pupils to reflect on their behaviour and improve their self esteem, confidence, mental and physical well-being. Evidence suggests that a small improvement in well-being can help to decrease mental health problems and help children flourish. We work towards this through 5 clear steps taken with children to improve their mental well-being, which is often just as important as individual’s external health.
Our team will look to create a tailored programme for your school to get the absolute best from your pupils and see them flourish. If you’d like to find out more about the project have a look at our information leaflet below or use the contact form to get in touch!
